Enable Secure Data Access and Sharing

caBIG« provides a variety of pathways to achieving interoperability. Depending on their existing infrastructure, resources, and needs, institutions may install caBIG«-compatible applications, adapt existing in-house or 3rd party commercial applications to become interoperable with capabilities provided by the caBIG« program, or leverage a variety of tools to make data resources interoperable.

Many institutions pursue hybrid approaches, leveraging multiple paths to interoperability, depending on their specific needs and their existing IT infrastructure.

What would you like to do?

Manage and securely share information and analytic resourcesŚusing locally managed access control policies and strongly typed data objects in XML formatŚthough caGrid. caGrid is the underlying network architecture and platform that provides the basis for connectivity of caBIG« tools and between all of the cancer community institutions, allowing research groups to tap into the rich collection of emerging cancer research data while supporting their individual investigations.

Develop interoperable information management systems and adopt/build applications that are interoperable with other caBIG« tools by using the Cancer Common Ontologic Representation Environment (caCORE) tools and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
