Digital pathology repository (NBIA)
Collect, manage, annotate, and share in vivo DICOM medical images with associated clinical and genomic data using the National Biomedical Imaging Archive (NBIA). NBIA provides the biomedical research community, industry, and academia with public access to DICOM images, image markup, annotations, and rich metadata. This tool enables the development of imaging resources that lead to improved clinical decision support, accelerated decision-making, and quantitative imaging assessment of treatment response.

What would you like to do?
NBIA is developed and maintained by the In Vivo Imaging (IMAG) Workspace, which focuses on identifying the ways in which the wealth of information provided by in vivo imaging can be viewed, annotated, shared, and most effectively integrated into the ongoing effort to improving patient outcomes.

caBIG« offers a number of support options for those learning about and deploying caBIG« community-developed applications and resources.
NBIA is part of a collection of life science and clinical research software applications designed to facilitate the discovery of the next generation of cancer diagnostics and therapeutics. Other applications and infrastructure of interest include:
- Microarray data management system (caArray): Support annotation and exchange of array data; integrate array data with clinical, imaging, tissue, and other functional genomics data.
- Data analysis portal (caIntegrator): Access and analyze clinical and experimental data across multiple clinical trials and studies.
- Imaging data analysis program creator: (eXtensible Imaging Platform - XIP): Create complex data analysis programs (e.g. lesion change detection) targeted at specific investigations.
- Medical image annotation tool (AIM): Annotate, query, save, and share data on in vivo DICOM medical images.
