New caBIG® Consumer/User Website Highlights Case Studies and Capabilities
Visitors to the new caBIG® Consumer/User Website are now finding case studies, personal stories, and resources on how caBIG® is improving biomedical research. In addition to enhanced content on caBIG® capabilities and how individuals and organizations can get "connected", the streamlined navigation assures that caBIG®-seekers can easily and quickly get to resources for successful implementation and collaboration with the caBIG® community.
"caBIG® keeps expanding to a larger and larger community," notes Dr. Ken Buetow. "Scientific, clinical, demographic, financial, technological, and societal trends have converged to create a demand for caBIG® capabilities both inside and outside the cancer community. In this new online environment, a diverse group of stakeholders can easily find the most relevant information."
"We also wanted a rapid vehicle for caBIG® adopters and adapters to tell their stories as a guide for others who want to know how to get started," Buetow added.
Selected features at the site include:
- Video Case Studies
- Presentation archive highlighting talks by Dr. Ken Buetow and others
- Current and past issues of the LINKS Newsletter
- 2008 caBIG® Annual Report
- caBIG® background, capabilities and current collaborations
- Information on how to get connected with caBIG®
Additional Web 2.0 features such as podcasts and a media room are in the pipeline for launch later this year.
This new Consumer/User Website complements the existing caBIG® Community Website for developers and technicians working to develop, adopt or adapt tools; connect to caGrid; or achieve caBIG® compatibility.
